Ollie Mae Buffington

September 24, 1931 – May 7, 2018

Ollie Mae Patterson Buffington joined her lord and savior in heaven on May 7, 2018. She was 86. She was born on September 27, 1931 in Oak Ridge, Louisiana to Charlie and Narcissus (Givens) Patterson.

Ollie always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed life, family and friends.

Ollie will be missed but not forgotten. She worked as a nurses aide at the Ponca City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Ollie could have an engaging conversation with anyone. Her indomitable spirit encouraged her family and friends to persist in the face of many struggles. She lived a life of faith.

She is survived by her son Terry Banner and his wife Avis, as well as a host of grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alex Buffington, Son Willie Charles Banner and Son Kenneth Banner.

A funeral service, under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel, will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 11:00 a.m. at the Attucks School (Community Center) located at 1001 S 12th Street in Ponca City. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City.
