Oklahoma kidnapping suspect killed by Texas authorities

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (AP) – Authorities have fatally shot a man suspected of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend in Oklahoma as he was stabbing her following a high-speed chase in Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said that after the pursuit ended Thursday morning in North Texas the suspect and the woman got of the vehicle and the suspect began stabbing her with a large knife. Troopers then shot the suspect, who died at the scene.
DPS says the woman was airlifted to an Oklahoma hospital with serious injuries.
Texas authorities were on the lookout for the suspect’s vehicle after police in Norman, Oklahoma, learned he’d reportedly kidnapped his ex-girlfriend.
Police in Burkburnett, Texas, said officers noticed the suspect’s vehicle and stopped it, but the suspect then fled. A number of law enforcement agencies joined the chase.
