Citywide Garage Sale this Saturday, kicking off Spring Cleanup week

Ponca City Now - April 11, 2018 2:29 pm

Ponca City’s Citywide Garage Sale will be held Saturday, April 14.

This one day only the City of Ponca City will waive the regular requirements for a garage sale. The $5 permit will not be required, and the garage sale will not count against the yearly limit of two sales.

People who hold a garage sale on this day are encouraged to place  the leftovers out at their regular trash pickup spot for proper disposal or donate them to a local charity.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be held on Saturday, April 21.

The garage sale is the kick-off event for the annual Spring Cleanup. The cleanup will run from April 14 to April 21 and is the opportunity for residents to clean up around their houses and yards.

Spring Cleanup is for Ponca City residents only.

Solid Waste crews will pick up most of the trash and haul it away, or residents can haul it to the landfill themselves and get rid of it for free.

Residents must show a current Ponca City Utility bill (electric) with trash service. The address on the utility bill must match the resident’s driver’s licence. In an effort to discourage unauthorized commercial dumping, vehicles larger than a pickup or trailer will be charged standard landfill fees. Residents are limited to six loads.
