An Ark City man was found with substantial injuries to his head and body Thursday night after police were called to the 400 block of south C Street for the report of an unresponsive male.
According to a news release from the ACPD Friday, officers were called to the scene at 10:24 p.m.
The man, who has not been identified, was transported to SCK Health and was later flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. The ACPD said the man was listed in stable condition as of Friday.
“We ask that if community members have information about this incident to please contact us at (620) 441-4547,” Ark City Police Chief Eric Burr stated.
Burr told media there is no outstanding danger to the public and that it was not a random incident. Burr said the victim did know the other parties involved.
Police say they gathered information and evidence at the scene, along with a brief statement from the victim, and added investigators conducted a full interview with him Friday.
The case has been transferred to the Cowley County Attorney’s Office.
