PCPS announces new Strength and Conditioning Coordinator

Miguel Wickert, MA, (CSCS*D, RSCC, TSAC-F) has been named the new Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for Ponca City Public Schools, pending board approval. Coach Wickert is replacing Antonio Fowlkes who held the position for the past three years. Coach Wickert has a diverse coaching background and has worked with professional athletes through youth levels.

Coach Wickert is a certified strength and conditioning specialist with distinction (CSCS, *D) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Coach received a Masters in Strength and Conditioning with an emphasis in Human Performance from LaGrange College.

He currently serves as the NSCA’s Oklahoma State Director and is an advocate for Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD). Coach Wickert holds certifications as Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC), USAW-L2 (USA Weightlifting) and Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F).

Coach Wickert’s highlights:

• Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach (University of Tulsa): worked with M/W Basketball, W Golf, W/Men’s Tennis, Track & Field; sprinters
• Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for FC Tulsa
• Director of Sports Performance at Titan Sports Complex
• High School Strength and Conditioning Coach (Edison HS- TPS): worked with over 500+ student athletes (6th-12th) from most sports (football, baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, POM, marching band, etc).
• Experienced Strength & Conditioning Coach for Tulsa area First Responders.
