Edith Nell McCallick

November 12, 1931 – March 30, 2018

Edith Nell Bottrell McCallick, 86, of Ponca City went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2018. She was born to Dwight John Bottrell and Ruby Pearl Kuhns on November 12, 1931 in Ponca City. She met and married the love of her life, Thomas McCallick and together they raised a beautiful, happy family here in Ponca City. Edith worked as a custodian for the public schools, She was an avid reader of the Ponca City News as well as a PTA member at the local schools. She was a member of the Community Christian church for over 58 years. She was a current member of the Woodlands Christian Church of Ponca, where she was a women’s group leader. Edith enjoyed volunteering at the Ponca City Hospital as well as working with the local cemeteries on meticulously keeping burial records. She was a leader of the local Genealogical Society and Historical Society. Edith was very active in her kid’s social activities as well as volunteering as a Bluebird leader and a Campfire leader. Somehow during all this volunteering, Edith even found time to write a book.

Edith is survived by her children, Ruby Alice and Husband Robert Fuqua of Henderson, Tennessee; Edith Kay and husband J.R. Hall of Paoli, Oklahoma; JoArlena McCallick, Thomas Lee McCallick, Edward James McCallick, and Donald Ray McCallick all of Ponca City, one adopted son Charlie Murray; Grandchildren Jay Roalton and wife Jody Hall; Charity Yvonne and husband Mike Eden; Eric Von and wife Keeley Hall; Sabrina Gail Leonard; Alixanne Faye McCallick; Cache Thomas McCallick; Kandice Nicole and husband Cody Neito-Valez; Kara Eve McCallick; Raelyn Brooke McCallick; 13 great grandchildren, Brother Oliver Daniel and wife Gloria Bottrell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held for Edith on Monday, April 2, 2018 2:00 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery in Ponca City. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday morning from 8:00 until noon at Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City.
