Perry woman injured in Wednesday accident

A 26-year-old Perry woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident about 10 a.m. Wednesday about five and a half miles north of Perry.

The accident occurred at U.S. Highway 77 and Airport Road in Noble County.

Shalyn Davis was driving a 2006 Suzuki northbound on US 77 at Airport Road when the vehicle left the roadway to the left and rolled about 2.75 times, coming  to rest on the driver’s side. She was not pinned, but was extracted through the roof by the Perry Fire Department.

Davis was  transported by Perry EMS to State Highway 86 just south of Perry, transferred to LifeNet, and then transported to OU Medical Center. She was admitted in serious condition with head, arm, and trunk internal injuries.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported inattention was the cause of the accident. The car was equipped with airbags, which deployed. Davis was wearing her seatbelt, the Patrol reported.
