Ponca City man injured in Osage County accident

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a Ponca City man is in critical condition following a motorcycle accident that occurred at 9:43 p.m. Thursday, on City View south of Scissortail Lane, one mile east of McCord, in Osage County.

Troopers report that Glen E. Salmon, 73, was in control of a 2013 Harley Davidson, traveling southbound on S. City View Road, when he swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway. The motorcycle departed to the right side of the road and then re-entered the left side of the road, laying the vehicle on its side before coming to a rest.

Salmon was transported by Medi-Flight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, and admitted in critical condition with head, trunk internal, trunk external and arm injuries.

Troopers cite an animal in the roadway as the cause of the collision.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Daniel Sparks No. 810 of the Pawnee/Osage County Detachment of Troop K.
