On Tuesday, April 5 the Po-Hi Symphonic Band welcomed Oklahoma Bandmaster Hall of Fame member and clinician, Ms. Susan Clothier, to the Concert Hall Stage to work with our students. Ms. Clothier spent 19 years of her teaching career at the 6A level at Putnam City North High School where her bands were consistent OSSAA Sweepstakes Award winners, and now serves Palen Music Center as an Educational Representative.

Throughout the evening, Ms. Clothier worked with the Band on their Contest Selections, and offered great insight to help them push to the next level of success as they continue to prepare for contest.

Ms. Clothier commented, “It is evident the group is working hard for Mr. Orr, and I am impressed with the work they have put in so far…Good things are happening here.” The Band Members and Directors would like to thank the Instrumental Music Parents Association, and Mrs. Paula R. Cochran, Instrumental Music Coordinator, for their support throughout the school year.

The Band is under the direction of Interim Director of Bands, Andrew Orr, and will travel to the Jenks High School Performing Arts Center for the OSSAA State Band Contest on Friday, April 15. Mr. Orr would also like to thank Connor Pratt and Britany Lawrence, Assistant Band Directors, as well as Joshua Chrisman, Student Teacher, for their work in helping prepare the Band for the upcoming contest.
