Norene Fixico of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Wednesday evening, February 14, 2018, in the St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 57 years.
Norene Fixico was born on March 13, 1960, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Willie and Elizabeth (Larney) Fixico. She grew up in the Seminole-Holdenville area and attended Holdenville Public Schools. Following the death of her mother, she moved to Blackwell to live with her sister. She married Leopoldo Lopez in 1983 in Arkansas City, Kansas, and they made Blackwell her home. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for Blackwell Nursing Home and Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home until ill health forced her retirement. She attended the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Blackwell and traveled on occasion to Mexico to visit her husband’s family.
She is survived by her husband, Leopoldo Lopez of Blackwell; two daughters, Rhea Elizabeth Fixico of Blackwell and Michelle Fixico of Ponca City; a son, Jason Fixico of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Louella Looper of Blackwell, Mandy Fixico of Blackwell, and Ruth Tiger of Seminole; four brothers, Mike Fixico of Boulder, Colorado, Sam Fixico of Oklahoma City, Robert Fixico of Oklahoma City, and Max Fixico of Oklahoma City; two aunts; and ten grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Lahaunta Paschal.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 17th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Lanny Jobe officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Mike Fixico, Sam Fixico, Max Fixico, Robert Fixico, Phillip Looper, Toby Fixico, Eric Looper and Chuey Cavcaos. Her grandchildren will serve as honorary casketbearers.
