January 15, 1947 – February 7, 2018

Larry P. Fry, age 71, a resident of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away February 7, 2018, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was especially proud of his three grandchildren and supported them in whatever they did.

Larry was born on January 15, 1947, to Doyle & Ruth (Scott) Fry in Compton, California. He was raised in Tecumseh, Oklahoma and graduated with the Tecumseh High School class of 1965.

He attended East Central in Ada, where he played football. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Education. He received his Master’s Degree from Central State in Edmond. He began his teaching career in 1970 in Frederick, Oklahoma. He taught and coached in Cushing, Checotah, Okmulgee, and Stillwater. Larry was High School principal in Glencoe and Assistant Principal in Ponca City, before moving to Perry. He was High School principal for one year before becoming Superintendent. He retired in July 2002. He went to work at the State Department of Education as a Regional Accreditation Officer. He retired in 2013. Larry was a long time educator. He met and worked with many people over the years. He was always honest and straightforward.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Gale, of the home; son: Kyle and wife, Angela of Morrison, OK; daughter Lisa of Oklahoma City; grandsons: Hayden and Kellen; Larry P. Fry, age 71, a resident of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away February 7, 2018, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Doyle and Ruth (Scott) Fry; two sisters, Sharon Carty and Sue Ely; and brother, Bill Hill.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the Perry High School Auditorium with Pastor Lonnie Hurst officiating.
