The Ponca City Board of Education recently approved a significant raise for PCPS support staff personnel. These raises will be implemented on July 1, 2022.

PCPS Superintendent Shelley Arrott said, “I am very excited our Board of Education approved a significant, much needed raise for our support staff! The new support salary schedule puts PCPS at one of the top support salary schedules in the area and state and will help us secure more staff.”

“Our support staff do receive health insurance benefits and retirement benefits and the school calendar is attractive to many so they can be home when their children are home,” said Arrott. “However, the benefits do not replace the take-home pay needed to cover living expenses.”

In June of 2022, PCPS will have a Support Staff Career Fair to talk to potential employees about our positions, openings, pay and benefits. “We need caring custodians, child nutrition workers, transportation workers, teacher assistants, SPED paraprofessionals, secretaries and many other support personnel to be a part of a team that makes a positive impact on our amazing students,” said Arrott.

“Working in a public school is a very rewarding profession, and we are excited this raise can help us retain our current support staff and attract new faces to PCPS.”
