(December 22, 1951 – February 4, 2018)

Linda Carol Jernigan of Blackwell, Oklahoma, entered heaven on Sunday afternoon, February 4, 2018, in the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City at the age of 66 years.

Linda Carol Jernigan was born on December 22, 1951, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Norman Leo and LaVera Nadine (Anthony) Sheets. She grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell Public Schools. She married Kenneth Lee Jernigan on September 8, 1972, in Blackwell and she served her family as a homemaker. She later worked as a nursing assistant at the Blackwell Regional Hospital. Linda loved her family and her Savior. She lived life full of love and laughter. She was a devoted mother to Brian, a loving daughter to LaVera, and a wonderful sister to Rhonda. She was a member of the Turning Point Apostolic Center in Arkansas City, Kansas. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ and served as the choir director of the First Church of the Nazarene in Blackwell.

She is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Kenny Jernigan of Blackwell; her mother, LaVera Sheets of Sarasota, Florida; a son, Brian Jernigan of Blackwell; a sister, Rhonda Maule and husband Keith of Sarasota, Florida; a sister-in-law, Lorene Christian and husband Ron of Edmond; a brother, Brad Sheets of Yukon; nephews, Darrell Christian of Edmond and Ryan Maule and wife Amber of Bradenton, Florida; a niece, Crystal Christian of Edmond; and a great niece, Summer Maule of Bradenton, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her father; and a nephew, Kyle Maule.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 8th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sandy Newman officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Ron Christian, Phillip Ballard, Larry Jeffries, Chuck Jeffries, Larry Jernigan, Dewayne Johns, David Allen Johns and Larry Alberts. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Kenny Paige, Dale McGaha, Warren Stafford, Raymond Rector, Richard Jernigan and John Buesing.
