Noble County Sheriff’s Office sees increase in car burglary reports in the Morrison area

Over the past several weeks, the Noble County Sheriff’s Office has noticed an increase in car burglary reports in the Morrison area.

Several citizens reported suspicious activity in the area. During the early morning hours of January 17, deputies observed suspicious activity between two vehicles near CR 200 and U.S. Highway 64.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop and learned that one of the two vehicles was stolen out of Payne County. Two individuals were identified and taken into custody a third was identified later.

During the investigation several items were recovered that had been taken from vehicle burglaries in the Morrison area. Deputies also located items believed to be stolen out of surrounding jurisdictions.

Deputies are currently working with investigators from Payne County Sheriff’s Office and the Stillwater Police Department to return the property to the rightful owners. This investigation is currently ongoing.
