Kildare firefighters responded to a report of a grass fire located on east Furguson Road west of Kaw Lake at 7:18 p.m. Monday evening.
Newkirk and River Road fire departments provided mutual aid. Travis Harris, Kildare fire chief, said the area was searched and no signs of a helicopter crash was located. The fire was extinguished shortly before 9 p.m.
