Overlay On Prospect Begins Monday

Ponca City Now - October 23, 2013 9:03 am

Beginning Monday, October 28, 2013, work will begin to mill and overlay the asphalt pavement on Prospect Avenue from the east side of 5 th Street to the west side of 14 th Street. The City of Ponca City has entered into a contract with Evans and Associates Construction Company to perform this pavement work.

The work will take place during the late overnight and early morning hours to minimize the inconvenience to motorists. It is anticipated that the mill and overlay work will be complete over a period of approximately 1 week, dependent upon the weather. New traffic striping will be applied to the new pavement after the asphalt overlay work is complete.

Signing, cones and barricades will be in place to direct traffic through the construction site. Temporary lane markers will be placed until all of the new pavement has been completed and the permanent traffic striping is applied. Motorists are urged to slow down and use extra caution through this construction zone.

Any questions regarding this project may be directed to Evans and Associates Construction Company at 765-6693 or to the City Engineering Department at 767-0326.
