Get Scared For A Good Cause

Ponca City Now - October 23, 2013 7:38 am

There aren’t any cattle or sheep in this sale barn.

The Tonkawa sale barn will be full of zombies, clowns and tombstones for three more nights.

Margie Oxford, haunted sale barn manager said this is not geared toward little kids.

The haunted sale barn has made its way throught multiple organizers, but Oxford is one of the orginals.

Before she took over the fire department ran it and donated the proceeds to Toys For Tots.

In Oxford’s years of running the barn she has donated the proceeds to Relay for Life.

"A portion of it goes to Relay For Life and then we have some other groups," Oxford said. "The extended studies group from Tonkawa, they are raising money to go on trips and then we have a couple of groups from Ponca City schools that are raising money to go on different trips and stuff. But the majority of the money goes to Relay."

Oxford has a Relay For Life team and when she wasn’t hosting the haunted barn her team ran the conession stand to raise money.

The haunted sale barn was open last Thursday through Saturday.

This Tuesday and Thursday are the last days you can go.

They open at 7:30 and stay open until 10 on Tuesday and Wednesday night.

They will be open an hour later until 11 p.m. on Halloween.

It cost $10 per person and the line shouldn’t be too long.

Also, if you bring a non-perishable food you get a free soda or popcorn.
