Leaf collection ends Jan. 9

Mulching and composting leaves provides a rich soil for yards and gardens. However, for
residents who would like to have their leaves removed, the City of Ponca City’s Autumn Leaf
Collection is underway and will end on Jan. 9, 2018.
Solid Waste asks residents wanting to participate in Autumn Leave Collection to please follow
these guidelines:
- Residents are asked to bag their leaves if possible. Bagged leaves, placed in the regular
refuse collection area, will be collected free of charge. Bagged leaves will be picked up
at a rate of 10 bags per pickup day. - Loose leaves should be placed within three feet of the front curb, but not in the street.
Leaves raked or blown into the street may clog storm drains and may result in a citation
per city code. - No un-containerized leaves will be collected in alleyways.
- No mulched leaves or leaves mixed with grass will be collected except by calling Solid
Waste for a Special Pickup.
“City Crews will be working Ponca City section by section to collect leaves, so we ask for your
patience during this time. It may take two weeks or more to collect your leaves, due to the large
volumes expected,” stated Scott Daine, Solid Waste Supervisor. Daine added, “Leaf collection
is available by Special Pickup throughout the year for a minimum charge of $37.95.”
Please call 767-0411 for information on Special Pickups.
