Walktober Registration Ends Soon

Ponca City Now - October 18, 2013 9:30 am

Every step matters in the Walktober competition.

The Ponca City Healthy Community Coalition is hosting this competition, which starts Monday.

The point is to get the most steps in the last two weeks of October.

Teams are a group of four to seven people.

Anna Stuck, Kay County accreditation coordinator said exercise is for everyone.

“We are using this as a way to help businesses with their Certified Healthy application, but we feel that exercise is important for everyone,” Stuck said. “So, if you are a family group, a group of friends we would love to have you participate. We feel that it’s important that the entire community, no matter what sector you’re from exercise and walking, and communal wellness activities is important for community relations and community growth.”

Your team can register at www. Kay.health.OK.gov.

You don’t need a pedometer, the website will have a translation sheet with universal numbers.

Walktober is open to the county.
