The DECA students from Ponca City High School have put together a four week kindness workshop at Washington Prekindergarten Center.  Each week DECA students have joined the PreK classrooms and visited about being kind and how they can show kindness.

They first read a different book each week about kindness and respect and then donated the 12 books to the school for their classroom libraries.  After the readings and discussions, the classes participated in a kindness activity of some sort.   In addition, each classroom was given five goodie bags each week to be given to students who showed kindness.  The immediate gratification was given in hopes to encourage all the students to work hard on showing kindness.

The Pre K students also had the opportunity to participate in a poster contest.   The contest theme was kindness and the winners will be given a first, second or third place prize

There is a kindness bulletin board in the school made up of the handprints of all the students to remind them to high-5 their classmates instead of bullying or being mean.
