Obey barricades in construction zone, police warn

Construction continues on Pecan just south of the Lake Road intersection. The Police Department has received reports of motorist driving around the barricades to avoid the detour. Police will be monitoring the area and issuing citations to motorist seen doing this.

Once the construction workers have the road bed prepared for overlay and then return to the construction site to see that vehicles have driven over it only delays the completion.

Drivers should always drive cautiously in areas of road construction and never drive beyond a barricaded area.
