Local Store Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Pink may be a spring color, but you see it all over in October because it’s breast cancer awareness month.

The Bag Lady downtown is embracing the pink with its pink party tomorrow.

Traci Mckee, The Bag Lady co-owner said it went well last year.

“The pink party is to support the local breast cancer awareness charities," Mckee said. "For instance 15 percent of our sales go to the local charity that gives free mammograms for women that can’t afford it.”

The store will be open late from 5-8.

They will have refreshments and discounts on their merchandise.

Mckee said it’s a fun event for people that have been affected and they raised more than $500 last year.
