Delwyn was born on January 10, 1936 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Verne Daniel Lemke and Beulah Agnes (Boyce) Lemke. He grew up in Ponca City graduating with the Class of 1954. As a senior in high school, he had a class with Louise Green. They hit it off and three years after graduation were married in Ponca City on September 2, 1957. Oklahoma State University provided Delwyn with the college education where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering in 1962. While in college, Delwyn and Louise were blessed with their son, Del. After receiving his degree, the family moved to Alice, TX where Delwyn worked a short time for an oil drilling company. Their son Darrel joined the family while in Alice. After leaving Texas, they returned to Ponca City for a few months before Delwyn was made aware of a job at Tinker Air Force Base. In 1963, he began working at Tinker, a career of 30 years, where he was a Section Chief in Jet Engine Maintenance and retired in 1993. Delwyn was a great dad and husband to his family. When his sons were young, he was active with them, coaching their little league teams and staying involved in their lives. Later he bought a 1955 Thunderbird which provided him with much joy when he could cruise around with Louise by his side. Over the last six years, Delwyn and Louise have been faithful members of the Oakdale Baptist Church in Edmond.
Survivors include his beloved wife Louise of the home, and adored sons: Del of Del City, OK and Darrel of Midwest City, OK.
