Ponca City voters overwhelmingly approved a five-year extension of the 1/2 cent sales and use tax which funds economic development through the Ponca City Development Authority.

With a scant 573 votes cast on the tax question, 77.31 percent, or 443 voters, approved the measure, compared to 22.6 percent, or 130 voters, against.

In Peckham, 91 voters turned out and approved a school bond measure by 75.62 percent (69 voters) to 24.18 percent (22 voters) against.

Shidler voters rejected a school bond issue by 76.34 percent (69 voters) to 23.66 percent (22 voters). A total of 93 voters cast ballots on that issue.
