Okla. Transportation Commission To Consider Work Plan

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – The Oklahoma Transportation Commission is considering adoption of an eight-year construction work plan that includes $6 billion in highway and bridge improvements.

Commissioners will consider approving the plan on Monday. It outlines the state Department of Transportation’s plan to improve highways and bridges in the state through 2021.

State transportation officials will also release their asset preservation plan for the next three years. That plan lays out proposed investments in highway and bridge maintenance needs to extend the life of the state’s transportation system.

In addition,based financial incentives to reconnect the east end of the new Interstate 40 Crosstown Expressway to downtown Oklahoma City. Construction on the project is expected to begin early next year.
