The Arkansas City, Ks. Police Department responded to a call on Friday involving an Arkansas City man that was considered to be armed and dangerous.
Christopher Logan Strychalski, 29, was arrested in the Ponca City McDonald’s parking lot at around 6:30 p.m. Friday on suspicion of aggravated battery, criminal threat and discharge of a firearm into an occupied residence.
An Arkansas City woman reported to police that she was strangled and beaten by Strychalski. Another resident notified police that a suspicious male suspect discharged a rifle that he was carrying. The bullet was later recovered on scene.
Neighbors report that Strychalski fled the scene on foot after hearing sirens toward a parked white Ford Mustang and began to leave the area in the vehicle just as police arrived on scene.
Strychalski headed south towards Ponca City where local authorities were notified. He was taken into custody without incident and is now detained in Kay County.
