Donna Lou Bringham
(October 25, 1942 – September 24, 2017)
Donna Lou Bringham of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday afternoon, September 24, 2017, in the Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 74 years.
Donna Lou Bringham was born on October 25, 1942, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Ewell “Ike” and Cynthia Mae (Foster) Morrow. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools. She married Jack R. Bringham on April 24, 1959, in Blackwell where they made their home. Donna was a homemaker who enjoyed helping others. She made costumes for school plays and volunteered for the United Way. She later served as secretary for the First Christian Church, a job she truly enjoyed. She worked tirelessly as a hands-on mother, not only for her three girls, but a multitude of their friends as well. She was a very special and kind person who loved her family and others with all her heart. Her husband preceded her in death on April 6, 2017, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell.
She is survived by three daughters, Lisa White of Blackwell, Shea Erickson of Blackwell, and Jackie Engelking of Newkirk; a sister, Mary Morrow of Ponca City; seven grandchildren, Andrea (White) Weiland of Edmond, Shayla (White) Alvarez of Blackwell, Lindsay (Erickson) Johns of Denver, Colorado, Kristen Erickson of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Jacob Engelking and Jared Engelking, both of Newkirk, and Madisyn Greene of Ponca City; three great grandchildren, Chanley and Weston Alvarez of Blackwell, and Cooper Jack Engelking of Newkirk; and many life-long friends who always played a big part in her life.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jack Kennedy.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 28th in the First Christian Church in Blackwell with Rev. Jeff Koch officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Jacob Engelking, Jared Engelking, Tomas Alvarez, Grant Weiland, Lyle Rath and Kelly Woods. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Clinton White, Frank Engelking, Ed Urban, Harold Hall, Donnie Green, Robert Smith, Dan Bringham, John Buesing, Jaron Johns, Terry Bringham and Jeff Koch.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the First Christian Church in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
