Ponca City Library October programs for children and adults

Ponca City Library

All the programs below take place at the Ponca City Library at 515 E. Grand Avenue. There are three ways to register for any of the programs: Go to the reference desk at the library; call 767-0345; or email [email protected] .

Visit the Ponca City Library this month to write a letter to Deployed Troops, Veterans, New Recruits, or the local first Responders (police, ambulance, firefighters). The library will provide post cards, various types of paper and send letters to Operation Gratitude and the local organizations.

Story time and Craft

11:00-12:00 pm

Recommended ages 0–6 will enjoy a fun singing exercise and then embark on an enchanting storybook read by the Children’s Librarian followed by a unique craft.

October 5 

HorrOrigami: Making Bats and Cats

3:00-5:30 pm

Come and go – recommended for all ages

Free self-guided origami instructions and materials provided to make a 3-D bat or a 3-D cat origami. For more information call the Ponca City Library.

3-D Paper Pumpkin Craft

Want to get in the holiday décor spirit? All supplies will be provided by the Ponca City Library.

Sewing Circle

Learn to crochet at this free event! There will be 10-12 patron availability.

Book Club

4:00-5:00 pm

The featured book is called All the Missing Girls, by Megan Miranda. There is a limited amount of books available that can be picked up any time before the scheduled Book Club at the Library Reference Desk.

Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Ages 0-15 can pick up free pumpkins at the Ponca City Library. The library will provide lots of decorations for children to get creative with decorating their own pumpkin. See official rules and entry form at the children’s desk at the Ponca City Library. This contest will end October 26, and winners will be announced October 27.

Library Tween Halloween Spooktacular

Pre-registration event (limit 30 kids): See above for how to register

3:00 pm

Ages 8-15 recommended. This will be a spooktacular program where tweens can enjoy fun interactive games, pizza and snacks, prizes and a spooktacular surprise (may be too scary for some kids).

Brick Builders

1:00-2:00 pm

Recommended for children and families

Children can use their imagination and creativity to build something using toy blocks of all shapes and sizes.
