Kay-9 Dog Training Club starting classes Sept. 11

Team Radio Marketing Group - September 6, 2017 12:02 pm

The Kay-9 Dog Training Club will start a new eight-week session of classes with an orientation at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11. NO DOGS are allowed at this first meeting.

There are two class times for the training sessions — 6 and 7:15 p.m. This one orientation is for both class sessions.

Classes will be held at the National Guard Armory at 1015 West South Avenue.

Cost is $50 for the eight-week sessions of basic obedience training. For those who have attended a previous class, there is a $10 credit toward the cost of the class.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended as the class size will be limited to 25 dogs. Applications will be accepted in the order they are received. Do not bring your application to class as spaces will be filled by that time. Please complete an application and mail it with the fee to Kay-9 Dog Training Club, P.O. Box 2746, Ponca City, OK 74602.

Applications are available at most veterinary clinics in Kay County. Current vaccinations are required.

There is a fair amount of walking as most commands are given from the heel position. The class teaches the dog’s owner to train their own pet. The trainers will give individual help as needed.  This is an obedience class and does not teach “tricks.”

For more information, contact Maxine at 716-3224 or Ruth at 401-5569.
