Darrell Wayne Stark

June 20, 1952 – September 4, 2017

Darrell Wayne Stark, age 65, long time resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at his home.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday, September 8 from 4-8pm with the family present to greet friends from 5-6:30pm. A ceremony to gratefully celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 am, September 9, 2017 at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Father Deva Undralla officiating. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park. Casket bearers will be Anthony Stark, Wesley Stark, Jeff Davis, Bruce Davis, Joe Searcy and Kip Quiram. Honorary Casket bears Kevin Schilling, and Wayne Bailey. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Darrell was born on June 20, 1952 to Richard Leroy Stark and Lily Cloma Rudd Stark in Keokuk, IA. After high school, Darrell joined the US Army, serving in the Vietnam Era. Once honorably discharged, he met Kathleen Schreck, they were married on July 14, 1979 in Wayland, MO. Early in their married life, Darrell and Kathy moved to New Mexico, where he then completed 2 years of education at Albuquerque technical school graduating April 21st, 1983, then further finished his education at Crowder College for water and waste water where he graduated August 24th, 1984, then Darrell was hired by the City of Ponca City in 1984. Darrell worked as a waste water operator with the city until his retirement. Darrell was above all, a family man, caring intently for his children and their children, providing fatherly stability and discipline between his ornery sense of humor. Those that knew Darrell, quickly became friends and enjoyed their time with him as he spliced his conversation with his sharp wit and smile.

Survivors include his beloved wife Kathleen of the home, children Anthony Stark and wife Caity of Ponca City, Wesley Stark and wife Raquel of Lawton and Elizabeth Stark and fiance James Cummings of Enid, siblings: Sharon Davis and husband Skeeter of Albuquerque, NM, Richard Stark and wife Chris of Detroit, MI, cherished grandchildren: Kaden, Kyra, Kaleb, Karli, Vincent and Zander as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents.
