FORT SUPPLY, Okla. (AP) – The Oklahoma Board of Corrections will privately discuss the death of an inmate at the state prison in McAlester during its regular meeting.
The board plans to meet at 1 p.m. today at the William S. Key Correctional Center in Fort Supply in far northwest Oklahoma.
Among the items on the agenda is a closed session of the board to discuss an investigation into the death of 43-year-old Timothy Joel Hale, who was found in his cell in July at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.
The board also is expected to approve a contract with private prison company GEO Group, which operates a 2,500-bed facility in Lawton.
