WILBURTON, Oklahoma — NOC dropped a pair of conference softball games at Eastern Tuesday afternoon in Wilburton 13-8 and 3-2.
The Mavs (18-12) dropped to 8-6 in conference while Eastern (13-15) improved to 6-6 in league play.
In Game 1, the Mavs built an early 2-0 lead but couldn’t hold on in a 3-2 loss to Eastern.
Jasmine Warriner, Lynsey Ailey, Sidney Webb, Morgan Fowble, and Karsyn Coleman each had singles for the Mavs. Coleman and Hallie Durkee scored the Mavs’ runs.
Ailey allowed three runs on four hits in the circle striking out eight.
After the Mavs took a 2-0 lead, Eastern tied the game in the fourth and scored the go-ahead run in the fifth.
In Game 2, the Mavs led 6-5 in the fourth when Eastern scored eight runs to take a 13-6 lead.
Durkee and Meagan Bellar homered for the Mavs while Margaret Landes, Warriner, Coleman, and Durkee had two hits each.
Molly Myers and Shay Cushenbery worked in the circle for NOC.
NOC hosts Western on Thursday at 2 p.m.
