Cloud named NOC’s Director of Public Information

Scott Cloud, Northern Oklahoma College Director of Public Information elected Chairman of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Communicator’s Council.

Northern Oklahoma College announced this week the hiring of Scott Cloud as the college’s new Director of Public Information.

Reporting to the Vice President for Development and Community Relations, the Director of Public Information assumes primary responsibility for increasing overall visibility for Northern Oklahoma College through communications on college activities as well as student, faculty and staff achievements in the electronic, local and regional media outlets. The director provides institution-wide vision, leadership and strategic direction for all areas of public information while supporting the college’s brand image and standards.

“The PIO is a vital position at Northern serving as the communication link between the college and the media,” said Sheri Snyder, vice-president for development/community relations. “We are excited that Scott has joined our NOC family.”

Cloud comes to NOC after nine years as the publisher of The Newkirk Herald Journal.

“I am thrilled to be working at NOC,” Cloud said.  “I am excited to bring NOC’s message to area communities through our newspaper and other media partners.”

He also worked at The Tonkawa News and the Tonkawa Public Schools.

He and wife Jalana have lived in Tonkawa since 1990.

Cloud has one step-daughter, Joslyn, a student at Northern Oklahoma College, and a 10 week-old grandson, Peyton.
