Effie Clinton passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Ponca City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 100. She was born on April 22, 1917 in Ione, Arkansas to William Andrew and Ella (Knoy) King. Effie was a homemaker who devoted most of her time to raising her children. When she did work outside of the home, she worked as a cook for a nursing home. Her hobbies included embroidery, gardening and her grandkids.

She is survived by her son, Jesse Lee Clinton and wife Sue of Ponca; Grandchildren: Carol Denise and Husband Richard Felser, Jr., Brett Wayne Clinton both of Ponca, Judith Deann and husband Greg Meador of Broken Arrow, Rhonda Fairchild of Ponca, Carol Ann Fairchild of Guthrie, Renee and husband Keith Shields of Stillwater, Dewayne and wife Cindy Clinton of Pittsburge, Kansas, David Clinton of Texas, Effie and husband Derk McElfresh of Shawnee, Sue Ann and Husband Pete Yancy of Sulphur, William Peckenpaugh of near Enid, Jimmy Dale Saunders and wife of Sulphur, 24 great-grandchildren and 22 great, great-grandchildren, and at least two more on the way, and by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter William Clinton, three daughters, Betty June Clinton and Shirley Ann Saunders, and Carolyn Sue Fairchild; two sons, Raymond William and Don Coy Clinton; one grandson, Floyd Peckenpaugh and a few precious great-grand babies.
