Median work continues at Prospect and 14th

Work continues on a project to modify the medians on Prospect Avenue and 14th Street.

The $122,233 contract with Do-U-Right Construction was awarded in April with construction starting a little over a month ago.

This project is designed to allow for safer turning movements at the intersection.

The median on the west leg of Prospect is being extended past the driveway behind Burger King. This will prevent left turns out of this driveway, making driving conditions safer in the area.

Work included the removal of the south median on 14th Street.

All work is being done at night to avoid conflicts with heavy daytime traffic.

One of the main goals of the project is to increase sight lines for drivers and increase the safety of left turns on flashing yellow lights.
