Board of Commissioners lacks quorum for meeting

Beverly Bryant - July 11, 2017 8:53 am

For the first time in years, Mayor Homer Nicholson was unable to call the Ponca City Board of Commissioners to order Monday night because of a lack of a quorum.

With five members on the board, three must be present in order to hold a meeting. On Monday night, only Nicholson and Vice Mayor Nancy Rathbun were present.

City Attorney Mike Vanderburg and City Manager Craig Stephenson said the board will call a special meeting by next Monday because of urgent business which must be completed by that day.
