Hit and run fatality collision in Kay County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a fatality collision occurred about 4:05 a.m. Sunday on US Highway 177, about 300 feet south of Yearling Rd., which is about 4 miles east and 3 miles South of Marland, OK in Noble County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Roselyn Begay-Whitehorn, 56, of Red Rock, OK. She was not injured.

A passenger in Whitehorn’s vehicle, Randall Whitehorn, 64, of Red Rock, OK passed away at the scene due to head and trunk internal injuries.

A second unkown vehicle received damage to its passenger side mirror.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated Whitehorn’s vehicle was parked on US 177 southbound shoulder disabled. Passener Randall Whitehorn was pushing the vehicle down a hill from the rear. Whitehorn’s vehicle went down a hill approximately a quarter of a mile while Randall was walking behind the vehicle. Randall was struck by the second vehicle with the passenger side mirror. Vehicle two left the scene. The condition of the driver of the second vehicle at the time of the accident and the cause of the collision are still unknown.
