“24 Works on Paper” exhibition travels across Oklahoma

“24 Works on Paper,” a traveling exhibition of work by living Oklahoma artists, will open to the public on June 23 at the Ponca City Art Center, 819 E. Central Ave., Ponca City. The exhibition will then travel the state for over a year, bringing original, contemporary Oklahoman artwork to viewers in communities large and small.

The “24 Works on Paper” exhibition features 24 artworks created on paper, including media such as printmaking, drawing, painting, and photography. The guest juror is W. Jackson Rushing III, Ph.D., University of Oklahoma Adkins Presidential Professor of Art History and Mary Lou Milner Carver Chair in Native American Art. He works in several intersecting areas: Native American art; modern and contemporary art; Southwest modernism; theory, criticism, and methodology; museum studies; and post-colonialism and visual culture.

The exhibition will continue at the Ponca City Art Center through Aug. 5, 2017. It will then travel to venues across Oklahoma such as Graceful Arts Center in Alva, and the Leslie Powell Foundation & Gallery in Lawton.
