George Jay White – Veteran

(March 12, 1932 – June 12, 2017)

George Jay White formerly of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, died Monday, June 12, 2017, at his home in Edmond at the age of 85 years.

George Jay White was born on March 12, 1932, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to George James and Edith Lucia (Boyles) White. He grew up on a farm near Ponca City until fifth grade when he moved with his family to Tonkawa. He continued his education in Tonkawa and participated in football, basketball and track and met the love of his life, Quenetta Sue Williamson. After serving in the United States Army as a corporal during the Korean War, the couple began their sixty-one year marriage on August 21, 1955.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery with military rites performed by the United States Army.
