Over 3,000 new COVID-19 Cases Statewide For Wednesday, New Deaths reported for local counties

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 3,249 new positive COVID-19 cases for Wednesday, Dec. 30. Oklahoma’s seen 287,030 COVID-19 cases overall as 32,363 cases are active.

48 virus-related deaths were documented for Wednesday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 2,453. It’s unknown as to how many of those deaths occurred in the past 24 hours. What we know is that among the new deaths, there’s one for a Logan County female, an Osage County male, a Pawnee County female and a Washington County female all in the 65 or older age group. Also, a Payne County male in the 50-64 age group.

Kay County saw an increase with 73 new COVID-19 cases, putting the county’s overall stats to 3,232 COVID-19 cases, 31 deaths and 2,718 recoveries. The latest data for Wednesday morning regarding Kay County communities can be seen below:

Blackwell – 381 cases/6 deaths/321 recoveries

Newkirk – 274 cases/1 death/234 recoveries

Tonkawa – 225 cases/7 deaths/186 recoveries

Kaw City – 41 cases/1 death/35 recoveries

Braman – 16 cases/0 deaths/11 recoveries

 

As for new COVID-19 cases in local counties, there are 107 for Payne, 66 for Osage, 57 for Pawnee, 28 for Washington, 26 for Noble, 21 for Garfield, 20 for Logan and five for Grant. Complete data for local counties can be seen below:

For the second day in a row, there are more recoveries than new COVID-19 cases. OSDH is reporting 3,466 new recoveries for Wednesday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 252,214. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

Health officials report that as of Wednesday, there have been 2,362,344total negative test results, 16,812 hospitalizations and 1,916 people currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
