NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – Jury selection is to begin for a man accused in a fatal drive-by shooting that killed a 55-year-old man in Norman.

Prosecutors have charged 41-year-old Russell Lee Blackwood of Purcell in the 2012 shooting death of Gary Norton Sr. Jury selection is to start Wednesday and a co-defendant, 38-year-old Richard Dean Lansdale, is to be tried next week.

Authorities say Blackwood allegedly threatened to kill Norton’s son several times prior to the shooting. The defendants are accused of driving to Norton’s home and firing a pistol several times. Norton died from a gunshot wound to the head.

The Norman Transcript reports (http://is.gd/ipWl8P ) a woman was in the car with the defendants and provided details of the shooting to police.
