The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 3,238 COVID-19 cases for Wednesday, Dec. 16. Oklahoma’s seen 245,229 COVID-19 cases overall as 32,194 cases are active.
42 virus-related deaths were documented for Wednesday. One was a Washington County male in the 65 or older age group.
Kay County saw 99 new COVID-19 cases for Wednesday, putting the county’s stats at 2,547 COVID-19 cases, 27 virus-related deaths and 2,070 recoveries. As for communities in Kay County, there are 77 for Ponca City, nine for Newkirk, seven for Tonkawa and six for Blackwell.

OSDH is also reporting 4,011 new recoveries statewide to place Oklahoma’s recovery total to 210,907. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
As of Wednesday, health officials report that there have been 2,158,637 negative test results, 14,665 total hospitalizations and 1,717 Oklahomans currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
