Ponca City Resident Injured in Collision in Noble County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred about 3:38 p.m. Sunday on County Road 170 south of the intersection of County road Yearling which is located about 3 miles north of Red Rock, OK in Noble County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 1983 Harley Davidson FTS motorcycle driven by William Thiele (sic), 71, of Ponca City, OK. William Thiele was transported by Air Evac to Saint Anthony’s hospital in Oklahoma City, OK where he was admitted in stable condition with trunk internal and leg injuries.

The second vehicle involved was a 1979 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Kenneth Thiele (sic), 73, of Ponca City, OK. This driver refused treatment at the scene for minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that both vehicles were northbound on County Road 170, approaching the four way stop, at the intersection of County Road Yerling. Kenneth Thiele’s vehicle slowed in preparation of the stop and William Thiele did not see the stop causing William’s vehicle to impact Kenneth’s vehicle from the rear. Helmets were in use by both drivers. The cause of the collision is listed as inattentive driving.
