Work to begin May 30 to narrow medians, improve sight distances

A project to modify the medians at 14th Street & Prospect Avenue will begin on May 30.  The City of Ponca City has a contract with Do-U-Right Construction Company to perform the work to narrow the existing medians to improve sight distance for opposing left turning drivers.

The work will require that the left turn lanes and adjacent through lanes on either side of the medians be closed during construction.  In order to reduce the inconvenience to drivers and the risk to workers, the project will be constructed during nighttime hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

All lanes of traffic will be open during daytime hours, but there will be traffic cones around the perimeters of the medians to protect excavations and/or newly poured concrete.  Drivers should exercise caution through the intersection during this project.

All work is expected to be completed within 30 calendar days.
