On Tuesday night at about 9:45 p.m., Kay County Sheriff’s Deputy Wesley Bear was on U.S. Highway 77 when he observed a vehicle turn into the northbound lanes traveling southbound.

Bear initiated his lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop and continued southbound in the northbound lanes. Bear stated that the speeds were near 70 mph.

Bear stated that Deputy Elliott Lindsey set up a road block near Coleman Road and U.S. 77, and the vehicle ran the roadblock and continued southbound.

The vehicle was finally stopped near Hubbard Road and U.S. 77,  where Bear took the driver into custody.

The driver was identified as Colton Bay. He is charged with driving under the influence, felony eluding an officer, driving the wrong way on a divided roadway, and running a road block.
