Blackwell Police Chief Dewayne Wood identified the victim of a shooting early Sunday morning as Christopher Connolly, 19, of Blackwell.

Blackwell Police received a 911 call about 1:58 a.m. Sunday regarding a male with a gunshot wound to the head in the 1300 block of South First, Wood said. He was pronounced dead at the Blackwell hospital and was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation, Wood said.
