Pawnee girl injured in collision near Morrison

A 16-year-old Pawnee girl was transported by Lifenet EMS to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where she was admitted in stable condition with head and trunk injuries.

The girl was injured in a collision at 7:25 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 64, a half mile east of U.S. 177, two miles west of Morrison in Noble County.

A 17-year-old Perry girl was driving a 1997 Chevy pickup, which was struck by a 1988 Ford driven by the injured girl.

A 2004 Honda, driven by another 17-year-old girl from Perry, also was involved in the accident. Neither she nor two 12-year-old boys, who were passengers, were injured.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that the Chevy pickup was eastbound on U.S. 64. the Honda was stopped in the eastbound lane of U.S. 64, yielding to oncoming traffic before attempting to turn into a private drive.

The Ford was stopped in the eastbound lane of U.S. 64 behind the Honda when the Chevy collided with the rear of the Ford, which then collided with the Honda.

The Highway Patrol determined the cause of the collision was an inattentive driver.
