The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,628 new positive COVID-19 cases for Thursday, Oct. 22. Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 112,483 COVID-19 cases as 15,017 are active.
11 additional virus-related deaths were documented on Thursday to bring Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,221. None of the deaths were in northern Oklahoma.
Kay County saw nine new cases on Thursday, putting the county to 831 cases, 16 deaths and 729 recoveries.
For new cases in local counties, there are 38 for Garfield, 34 for Payne, 31 for Washington, 25 for Osage, 15 for Logan, five for Pawnee, four for Grant and one for Noble.

OSDH is reporting 1,266 new recoveries for Thursday to put Oklahoma’s recovery total to 96,245. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
Officials report that as of Wednesday, there have been 1,378,605 total negative specimen, 8,170 total hospitalizations and 910 patients are currently hospitalized.
