The Otoe-Missouria Tribe released a Facebook post on Monday stating that an employee at the tribal daycare has tested positive for COVID-19.
While the Otoe-Missouria adheres to all CDC child care recommendation including the wearing of masks, frequent hand washing and disinfecting high touch surfaces often, the decision was made to take caution and close the tribal daycare for the remainder of this week. Those who have been primarily exposed to the positive case will be notified and should quarantine for 14 days.
The daycare center will be deep cleaned and sanitized while it is closed. All staff will be tested before the center is reopened.
In addition, the Otoe-Missouria Tribe made the announcement on Tuesday that the Otoe Eloska Dance for 2020 has been cancelled.
