The Kay County Sheriff’s Office had another pursuit Monday afternoon following a report at 3 p.m. of an assault and battery on an elderly man at Ponca Iron and Metal.

A description was given of a man that left on foot. Kay County Deputy Mike Landis observed a man matching the description near the intersection of Oakland Road and South Waverly Street.

Landis attempted to speak to the man, who fled on foot through a field near the intersection. Landis pursued him and other Kay County deputies arrived, along with Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Langston, to assist Landis.

The subject was found and taken into custody.

Undersheriff Sean Grigsba said the subject is facing charges of assault and battery, resisting arrest and outstanding Kay County warrants.
